NFL Draft 2023: Eagles Receive Top Grades While Cowboys and Lions Disappoint

The 2023 NFL draft has just concluded, and with it comes the customary analysis and grading of each team's performance. While first impressions can be deceiving, we'll still provide you with a quick rundown of our initial thoughts on each team's draft haul.

Starting with the best-performing team in the draft, the Miami Dolphins deserve an A+. They landed the best player in the draft, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, and then followed it up with a strong supporting cast. Their picks of running back Travis Etienne and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown were both excellent choices.

Next up, the Houston Texans deserve an A for their draft. They traded up to land the third overall pick and selected defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, who has the potential to be a game-changer on defense. They also picked up some valuable players later in the draft, including safety Kyle Hamilton and offensive tackle Zion Nelson.

The Denver Broncos get a B+ for their draft, thanks in part to their excellent pick of cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. in the first round. They also added some much-needed depth on both sides of the ball, with picks like defensive tackle Jalen Carter and wide receiver Jahan Dotson.

The Los Angeles Chargers also earn a B+ for their draft. They addressed some of their biggest needs on the offensive line with picks like tackle Evan Neal and center Tyler Linderbaum. They also added some

valuable depth on defense with players like linebacker Nakobe Dean and safety Jaquan Brisker.

The New York Jets get a solid B for their draft. They made a smart move by trading back and acquiring more picks, and they used those picks wisely to address several key areas of need. Their picks of defensive end George Karlaftis and cornerback Trent McDuffie should help bolster their defense.

The San Francisco 49ers also earn a B for their draft. They made a splash by trading up to the second overall pick to select quarterback Malik Willis, who has the potential to be a star in the NFL. They also added some valuable depth on defense with players like linebacker Devin Lloyd and defensive end Kingsley Enagbare.

The Detroit Lions get a B- for their draft. They made some solid picks, including defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and wide receiver Treylon Burks, but they also reached for some players and could have done more to address their offensive line.

The Las Vegas Raiders also earn a B- for their draft. They made some solid picks on defense, including linebacker Christian Harris and cornerback Ahmad Gardner, but they also failed to address some of their biggest needs on offense.

The Seattle Seahawks get a C+ for their draft. They made some decent picks, including cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. and running back Breece Hall, but they also reached for some players and could

done more to address their offensive line.

The New England Patriots also earn a C+ for their draft. They made some decent picks, including linebacker Nik Bonitto and wide receiver David Bell, but they also failed to address some of their biggest needs on offense.

The Carolina Panthers get a C for their draft. They made some solid picks, including linebacker Owen Pappoe and defensive tackle Jordan Davis, but they also reached for some players and could have done more to address their offensive line.

The Dallas Cowboys also earn a C for their draft. They made some decent picks, including cornerback Sevyn Banks and wide receiver Garrett Wilson, but they also failed to address some of their biggest needs on defense.

The Arizona Cardinals get a C- for their draft. They made some decent picks, including defensive tackle Haskell Garrett and running back Isaiah Spiller, but they also reached for some players and could have done more to address their offensive line.

The Pittsburgh Steelers also earn a C for their draft. While they made some solid picks like linebacker Will Anderson Jr. and offensive tackle Charles Cross, they also failed to address their biggest need at quarterback, which could come back to haunt them in the future.

The Tennessee Titans also earn a C- for their draft. They made some questionable picks, including cornerback Derion Kendrick and wide receiver Jahan Dotson, and they also failed to address some of their biggest needs on defense.The Atlanta Falcons also earn a D+ for their draft. While they made some decent picks like offensive tackle Evan Neal and linebacker Nicobe Dean, they also reached for some players and could have done more to address their biggest need at quarterback.

The Indianapolis Colts get a D for their draft. They made some questionable picks, including wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and defensive end Tyreke Smith, and they also failed to address some of their biggest needs on offense.The Green Bay Packers also earn a D for their draft. They made some questionable picks, including linebacker Jordan Hicks and offensive tackle Abraham Lucas, and they also failed to address some of their biggest needs on defense.

Finally, the Chicago Bears get an F for their draft. They made some head-scratching picks, including defensive end Chris Hinton and running back Brian Robinson Jr., and they failed to address their biggest need at quarterback.
