Mistrial Requested in E. Jean Carroll Case Following Accusations of Bias Against Trump

In a recent legal development, former U.S. president Donald Trump's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, has filed an 18-page letter accusing U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan of bias against his client. The letter suggests that Kaplan has shown favoritism towards the opposing party, which has affected the proceedings of the trial.

The case involves accusations made by writer E. Jean Carroll, who has accused Trump of raping her in a department store dressing room in the mid-1990s and then defaming her

Carroll's lawyers have not yet responded to the request.

According to the letter submitted by Joe Tacopina, he should have been granted the opportunity to question E. Jean Carroll as to why she did

not attempt to obtain the security camera footage of the alleged rape. Tacopina also believes that he should have been given the chance to ask E. Jean Carroll about the reason behind her decision not to report the alleged rape to the police. However, it remains to be seen whether Kaplan will grant him this opportunity.
